The Curriculum

We aim to provide every child with a broad, balanced, rich and creative, differentiated curriculum that is progressive and relevant to his/her needs.

We provide a rich and stimulating environment based on first hand experience. By encouraging our children to experiment, investigate, articulate and to have ownership of their learning, we foster creativity in its widest sense.

We use a cross curricular approach to our delivery of the curriculum and wherever possible the different subjects are taught through topics. We believe that this allows our children to develop as learners, through meaningful experiences, to which they respond in a variety of ways. The resultant work allows for the development of knowledge and understanding in English, Maths, Science, ICT and Religious Education, which are the core subjects. The foundation subjects of History, Geography, Music, Physical Education, Modern Foreign Languages, Enterprise, PSHE, Art and Design Technology also feature in our curriculum, which aims to meet the individual needs and aspirations of the children and offers a wide range of opportunities for all children to achieve success.

The skills and attitudes which are developed in this way promote a joy in learning that we hope will continue through the child’s life.
